A few homegrown veggies will be on the Christmas dinner plate this year: spinach, carrots, parsnips, beetroots and our first turnips.

The root vegetables are all very dainty. Here’s the largest of the turnips (about the size of a tennis ball).

Over the next few weeks the garden clearing will commence, and the polytunnel will be ordered. Here’s to semi-self-sufficency in 2021!
